bio submitted for the reunion:35th class:
Where have I been for 35 years? After a somewhat lengthy stint (17 YEARS) in Memphis, I moved to Raleigh NC for close to 5 years, before landing in Atlanta (the past 6). Still in the advertising business. Currently a national TV spot sales rep with a NY (and oldest) TV rep firm period. Don't train horses, race cars or own a time share in Destin (although those don't sound half bad). Do manage to get in a game of soccer occasionally and get down to the pub to watch the real guys play soccer on TV a lot. I used my influence to persuade my son to go to Ole Miss (his final choices were Ole Miss, Ole Miss and ... Ole Miss). All in all, I have three alarmingly sweet and sensitive children. I still think the Beatles are the best band ever, but do keep up with the current breed of guitar wailing "artists". And in a gentle concession to factual age, I'm listening to a lot more jazz in the Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong mode. How nice it would be to hang out at the "Mod Shop" or Mrs. Morgan's "Hole in the Wall" again! Mr. and Mrs. Gafford (to you)...mom and dad to me, are gratefully both still going strong. Dad, still in Oxford. Mom, returned to Pensacola. I think, more than you can know about those in my class who can't say the same.
I am looking forward to seeing my old friends at this reunion more than any time, previously. (Now if that doesn't make me sound old?) It probably goes for us all but let me say it anyway, ALL OF YOU, are welcome at my door anytime. See you the 23rd! |
